Dr Alfredo Smart

Alfredo studied Pharmacy at the University of Nottingham, where he continued his studies to complete a PhD. During his doctoral research, Alfredo developed a method to investigate the subcellular localisation of delivered mRNA by proximity labelling. He joined our group as a postdoc to work on RNA structural probing and viral transcription. When not at the bench, Alfredo enjoys making music, discussing new scientific ideas, and taking long walks with his dog.
