Daniel holds MSc in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology from the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg, and is awaiting completing his PhD studies at the RNA Bioinformatics and High-Throughput Analysis group at the Friedrich-Schiller University Jena, Germany. During his PhD studies, he developed computational methods for RNA structure analyses. His interests include long-range RNA-RNA interactions in viral genomes, and he thoroughly enjoys python scripting, graph theory and machine learning. In addition to analysing RNA structures, Daniel enjoys playing complex board games and practising karate.
